Printed Lanyards – Considerations Before Ordering

June 27, 2011

The best thing about buying lanyards are that you can get printed lanyards for your business at very reasonable prices and you can personalize them to suit your company.

One of the choices that you will have to make is to select a font for the printing that you want to have on the lanyard. Selecting the right font is not difficult, but you should consider a number of things before you make your final selection.

Number of words

Write down on a piece of paper what it is that you want your lanyard to say. Are you planning on simply writing the name of the business or are you using a slogan or a motto of some kind? Are you using both? What you are trying to determine is how much space the wording is going to use. If you are planning on having a motto you may realize that you will only be able to fit the saying on the lanyard one time if it has a lot of words. However, if you are only planning to have the name of the company you may realize that you can have the name of the company put on the lanyard three or four times.

Size of Letters

If you are planning to print a long slogan you might discover that you will have to use smaller lettering to get the entire message onto the lanyard. If you are only going to use the name of the business and you are planning to repeat the name over and over you might want to select a big bold print that can be seen from a distance.

The width of the lanyard is going to affect your choice. You can only make the letters as wide as the lanyard. If you want to use a tube style lanyard your letters will have to smaller than if you select a flat lanyards model.

Tone of the message

It is important that you select a font that is going to reflect the tone of the message or slogan. Are you printing something funny? Or are you trying to say something very serious?

Similar products

If you want to put the name of your business on the lanyard you should look at any other products that you have which has a printed company name on it. You should use the same style of font that you sue on your business cards and on your stationary. By using the same font you are creating a cohesive image for your company.

Color

This is one of the most important choices that you will have to make. It is important to use any colors that are already associated with your business and the image that you are trying to convey. However, if you do not have any established colors you might want to take the time and really focus on your choice. This is a great opportunity to make a selection that you can use in the future and on other business related items.

Printed lanyards are going to be a reflection of you and your company. You want to make them as visually appealing as possible. Additionally, you want the printing to be effective and that means selecting the right font.
