School Lanyards – Great For Field Trips

December 9, 2011

Teachers are always on the lookout for items that can make their job easier. One product that numerous teachers have recently discovered is school lanyards. These simple devices can help out in the classroom in all kinds of different ways.

One way that a lanyard can help is by making any field trip easier to manage. For safety reasons teachers frequently enlist the help of parent volunteers to go with the class on any kind of school outing. This is an ideal way to lower costs. However, not every parent will be able to recognize all of the students on sight. To make things easier a teacher can have all of the students and supervising parents wear a lanyard. Due to the fact that they can be worn by anybody without regard to their age, size or sex, they can be worn by both children and supervisors.

School lanyards are make it simpler for people seeing the groups to recognize them as all being from the same school. While this may seem silly if you are a security guard or a worker at the venue it makes it far easier to know which child belongs to which group if they are all wearing an identifying lanyard. Additionally, on site personnel will know that any person wearing the proper lanyard may have access to certain areas of the building, which may not be open to the general public.

Lanyards can be incorporated into the theme of the trip itself. If the teacher uses pocket or wallet lanyards they can separate the entire class into groups and use the lanyards to designate the group to which each child belongs. For example if the class is planning a trip to the local museum to see the dinosaurs each group could be name for a different kind of reptile. One group could be the raptor and another group the Albertasuaus etc. Alternatively, the lanyard groups could be designated by colors.

Lanyards can be used as a part of the trip itself. Teachers can use the lanyard pouch as a place for students to keep special items related to the field trip. Wallets can include question sheets for students to answer and complete while they are on their outing. Alternatively they could use the pouch to store any pamphlets or sheets that they are given while they are at the venue.

Teachers do their best to make field trips exciting and fun. A lanyard is a great aid in this endeavor. Lanyards could b used to store instructions for a scavenger hunt. A scavenger hunt can be done in a number of different ways. The most traditional way is to ask each member and/or group to collect a number of different items. An alternative method is to have sheet with a list of items and simply have the people check off or indicate how many of each things they saw during the trip.

School lanyards are a valuable investment. They can be washed and reused. A school can purchase a hundred lanyards and use them for years.
